Canada Lands Company is committed to the redevelopment of the Wellington Basin area. As part of the development of the Wellington Basin Master Plan, Canada Lands is inviting a variety of municipal, institutional, governmental, community, private and academic stakeholders, as well as local residents to express their views on the requirements needed for a healthy and inclusive development.

The Wellington Basin area is approximately 13.6 hectares (33.6 acres) in size and is bounded to the north by Peel Basin, to the south by Bridge Street, to the east by Mill Street and finally to the west by the railroad along Wellington Street.

The planning process is taking place within a wider planning context for the area by various City partners.

This process aims to engage a wide range of stakeholders:

  • Representatives of community groups
  • Local stakeholders such as people who live, work or frequent the Bridge-Bonaventure area
  • Residents of adjacent neighbourhoods
  • Invited organizations and experts with relevant expertise on issues in the area

Canada Lands Company is committed to making the Wellington Basin a resilient and inclusive living environment anchored in the Bridge-Bonaventure area.

More than 70 people participated in the collaborative workshop "For a healthy and inclusive development of the Wellington Basin", initiated by the Canada Lands Company. The event, held on March 31 at the Montreal Science Centre, allowed those in attendance to learn about and, more importantly, participate in the Wellington Basin Master Plan project.

A variety of municipal, institutional, governmental, community, private and academic stakeholders expressed their views on the conditions to be implemented for a healthy and inclusive development of the Wellington Basin.

The collaborative process, carried out in close collaboration with Atelier Urbain, a firm specializing in facilitator services, has reached an important stage. The ideas and suggestions gathered will be analyzed and presented during the subsequent stages in order to refine the master plan.
